Imperfect Reconstruction (2016)

An algorithmic project with spatial, audio and video installation. Digital composition: Hanns Holger Rutz and David Pirrò. Spatial design: Lisa Horvath. Projection design: Peter Venus.

Formatting of the documentation for this portfolio is currently underway. In the meantime, please be referred to the Research Catalogue entry, where the project and its components are documented, and the video trailer.

The four pillars of Imperfect Reconstruction were a) an interdisciplinary approach and a research phase in which we would cross the boundary from artistic to scientific practices, as well as the boundary between different media (sound, video, image, text, spatial construction); b) an exhibition c) a workshop and micro-symposium; d) a catalogue. Research residency, exhibition and symposium “Interpolations” took place at the esc media art lab Graz, between November 2016 and January 2017. The catalogue was published in June 2017 and is available from esc.

The project was funded by Kulturamt der Stadt Graz, Kulturreferat des Landes Steiermark, and Bundeskanzleramt Österreich - Kunst. It was hosted by esc media art lab Graz, and it was kindly supported by the Institute of Electronic Music and Acoustics (IEM) Graz, and the Transpositions [Tp] project (FWF-PEEK AR 257).
